I will strongly suggest to use Linux, go for linux mint its very user friendly.
It will take you a couple of week to learn but you will thank me after that.

and yes kaspersky will work, just make sure your system’s hardware is not below the recommended specification of the version you are using.

the kaspersky online scanner doesn’t work on my comp. i have nortan but it is horrible. so if i install kaspersky, will it work

You can remove the admin password then you can logon as administrator.
A useful tool just like Windows Password Rescuer can perfectly solve this problem.

If your system is Windows 7/vista/xp,you can use “Windows Password Rescuer Personal/Professional’.

If you lost your windows log on password, you can try these methods:

Method 1: Log on as admin to reset the password. When installing Windows, it automatically creates an account “Administrator” and the default password is blank. If you have previously created a password reset disk, you can use it to reset the password also.
